Personal E-ID

Personal E-IDOn January 1, 2016, Hungary renewed the Hungarian identity card. This update introduced new security features meeting today’s requirements by containing an electronic storage element (chip). The government’s goal behind the introduction of the new document (e-ID) is to give citizens a key to enter the electronic space and encourage the widespread use of e-government services provided by the public administration.

Amongst e-ID functions, electronic identification has a special role, ensuring technological support and conditions of the daily practice of this function by an eID server of safe electronic identification and authentication. On behalf of the Hungarian State, the operation and services of the eID server is provided by IdomSoft Ltd., with the purpose of broadening the available electronic identification services in both public and market sectors.
